About Us

The School Counseling Department at T. Dewitt Taylor Middle-High School is dedicated to helping all students.  Our school counseling program focuses on providing students with opportunities to achieve optimal personal growth, acquire positive social skills and values, set appropriate career goals and to realize their full academic potential to become productive, contributing members of our community.

Throughout the year, School Counselors meet with students individually, in small and large groups and in the classroom to assist with:

  • Academic advising including course selection, scheduling, and academic support
  • Social and emotional counseling including peer relationships, stress management, conflict resolution and crisis intervention
  • Graduation assurance
  • Career and college exploration
  • Post-secondary planning

School Counselor Availability

School Counselors are available to students before and after school and during lunch.  Students may stop during these times without an appointment. 

For longer conferences, students must make an appointment through the School Counseling Department's Receptionist, Ms. Louise Everett

Parent conferences can be scheduled by calling Ms. Everett at 386-740-9800 extension 23743

*Counselors are not available during their lunch from 11:45 AM - 12:30 PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays or 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM on early release Wednesdays.
